How to Get Client Selections into Lightroom Classic

Confirm the favorites

Make sure the client has finished the intended selection and that no draft favorites are mixed into the list.

Copy the filenames

Use the displayed filenames or stable filename stems instead of manually describing the chosen photographs.

Record the count

Note the expected number of selected images so the Lightroom result has a clear verification target.

Protect naming continuity

Do not rename proof files independently from the catalog originals unless you maintain a deliberate mapping.

Open the Library module

Work in Lightroom Classic's Library module where the Library Filter can search catalog metadata.

Choose the correct source

Select the relevant folder, collection, or All Photographs view that contains the delivered shoot.

Filter by Filename

Use the Text filter, choose Filename, and apply a Contains search that matches the preserved filename stems.

Review the results

Check that every result belongs to the project and that no unrelated file shares the same partial identifier.

Compare the count

Match the Lightroom result count against the number recorded from GalleryDock before beginning edits or exports.

Spot-check filenames

Compare several first, middle, and last filenames to catch truncation, separators, or renamed variants.

Clear other filters

Remove rating, flag, color, camera, or date filters that could silently hide valid client selections.

Save only after verification

Once the result is correct, save it as a regular Collection if the selection needs a durable working set.
